Zucchini Tromboncino Grow Challenge Competition

Our grow challenge is back for summer 2018-19! Grow the longest Zucchini Tromboncino and you could win a 2-Hour on site consult with Leaf, Root & Fruit (value $200). Last year, the winner of our Grow Challenge was Teresa. She also set the Australian Record for the longest Tromboncino (140cm!). It was the first time she had ever grown Tromboncinos. This time it could be you setting a new record!

We are challenging our growing community to grow the longest Zucchini Tromboncino over the summer.

To help you get started on your quest for gardening glory, we’ve got free packets of seed to give away. This seed packet offer is strictly limited. Fill out the contact form below and we’ll post them out to you. We’ll even cover the cost of postage! Due to lottery permit requirements for some states and quarantine restrictions for others, entrants must reside in the state of Victoria to be eligible to claim a free packet of seeds and enter the competition. The prize of a 2-hour gardening consult is available within the Melbourne Metropolitan Region only.

In return for sending you these seeds, all we ask is that you sign up to our mailing list and keep the Leaf, Root & Fruit community updated on your growing progress over the summer. You can do this via:

The prize will go to the person who can grow the longest Zucchini Tromboncino fruit. To enter you’ll need to provide a photo of yourself with your giant Tromboncino. Please include a ruler or tape measure proving its length when you share it with us. Fruit must be measured in a straight line so it is best to grow the plants up a trellis so that the fruit grows long and straight. The judge’s decision is final! We’ll give you until Monday 29th of April 2019 to submit your entries. The winner will be announced during the following week via our social media.

Check out our blog post for further details on how to grow Zucchini Tromboncino.

Good luck and Happy Gardening!
