Easy Pest Management

February 10, 2019 @ 10:00 am - 11:00 am

Aphids, slugs, whitefly, cabbage moth, earwigs and snails… they’re the bane of many a gardener. The more Duncan learns about gardening, the more he comes to appreciate the importance of “bugs”. By understanding the basis of pest-predator interactions, you too will become an advocate for “Do-Nothing Gardening”. Learn how to enhance your garden to ensure you maintain a healthy ecosystem full of the right type of “bugs”. We’ll also discuss a few strategies to try on particular severe outbreaks before resorting to sprays and pesticides. Come away from this session in gardening ecology with a more relaxed approach to your gardening.

Duncan Cocking operates Leaf, Root & Fruit Gardening Services. He is passionate about reducing the human impact on the environment and actively promotes a sustainable approach to living and sourcing of food.

This presentation is being run as part of the Sustainable Living Festival ” Big Weekend”. The presentation will be hosted at “The Garden” stage of the festival.
